Frequently asked questions

OK, but what is it?

This is an hour long splatter painting session where you are free to throw, drip, drizzle, pour, smear, and brush paint on a canvas to create a one of a kind work of art.

You’ll get a high quality 30in x 40in canvas, all the paint you will need, materials for throwing, and protective gear if you want to keep your clothes clean. Plus, we will be taking videos and pictures of your work during the experience so that you can focus on the art and not worry about Instagram for a little bit.

It’s a creative session for yourself, for you and a friend, for a first or second or 25th date, for a married couple, for a whole party. Create the art that you want to see.

What should I wear?

You should wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Acrylic paint won’t come out of fabric, and there is a high likelihood that you will get some splatter on your clothes. Fortunately, that makes your clothes way cooler. Makes you look like the artist that you really are.

Paint will wash right off your skin and hair, so no need to worry about becoming permanently turquoise.

Protective gear is available including gloves, shoe covers, and coveralls (coveralls are $20 extra/person).

Is this appropriate for Children?

Children under the age of 10 can’t come. Plus, adults never get the chance to just get messy, so this is more for you than it is for the kids.

How many people can I paint with?

The Splatter Paint Experience includes one canvas and paint for two people. If you want to add a person, it will be an additional $25. To add an additional canvas is $50. You can paint with as many people as you want, and if they want to join but not paint, they can absolutely come and hang out!

Is this indoors or outdoors?

We opened a studio in the NoDa neighborhood at the end of 2023! Any pictures you see online of us painting outside is from the before-times, so all sessions are held 100% indoors.

What’s your cancellation/rescheduling policy?

Cancellation with at least 72 hours notice will get a full refund. Cancellation with less than 72 hours notice, you will not receive a refund.

Rescheduling can be done with at least 24 hours notice. Rescheduling cannot be done with less than 24 hours notice.

When refunding a team building exercise, we will refund the full amount minus the credit card fee that we were charged at the time of booking.

We will wait up to 20 min after your scheduled start time to start a session. If you are more than 20 min late, then your session will be cancelled with no refund. I know, it’s rough, but we can’t have a groups session running into another scheduled session, right?

Just make sure you know your plans, and give us as much notice as you can, cool? We buy materials based on the sessions we have coming up, and it would be a shame to buy something that we won’t use.

How do I pay for My Experience?

When you make a reservation, you will select your time slot, choose any additions that you want for your experience, and then pay online. That’s what locks in your reservation.
